A professionally
conducted investigation requires personnel of many skills. Of
primary importance is the investigator's ability to quickly assess the person
being interviewed and determine what technique is best utilized to extract
accurate and reliable information. He or she must be well versed in
evidential matters to understand not only the case itself, but whether the
information being relayed is accurate and within the scope of the case. A
good investigator is always looking for other sources of information with the
knowledge of how to obtain that information.
Some
of our general investigation services include:
Case
Review: Prior to any
actual investigation, each case begins with a thorough review to determine the
most appropriate steps to take in an orderly manner.
Witness
Location: Witnesses
have a way of becoming difficult to find after the initial incident is
over. Locating witnesses and securing their cooperation is essential.
Witness
Interviews: Developing
rapport with the witness and asking the right questions will provide more
reliable and accurate information.
Lead
Development: What
other witnesses may be available that are not readily known? What other
sources might shed some light on motives, frame of mind, other suspects
etc? Developing and following through on this information increases the
over all investigation.
Scene
Documentation: A well
photographed or diagram incident/crime scene allows witnesses or jurors to fully
comprehend the scene itself, the location of evidences, location of involved
parties and sequence of events.
Evidence
Analysis: Other
evidence may be present that was either not collected or not analyzed.
Evidence can play a major role in the case especially if you are dealing with
eye witnesses or testimony that borders on the line of speculation.
Remember not all evidence that is collected received examination.
Documentation:
Complete reports that are accurate and delivered in a timely manner affords
essential time to incorporate the information into the case. All written
documentation is provided with the availability to discuss or explain any
information they contain.

FCA
